EFT
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), or “Tapping,” is a scientifically supported practice that uses gentle fingertip tapping on acupuncture points on the hands, face, and body while focusing on distressing thoughts and feelings.
Enhance Emotional Regulation - Reduce & Manage Anxiety / Stress / Depression - Improve Sleep - Ease Chronic Pain - Boost
Self-Esteem - Promote Overall Well-Being
EFT combines cognitive and somatic (body-based) elements to address both the mind and body. The cognitive aspect involves focusing on specific thoughts, memories, or emotions that are troubling. This could be anything from a specific traumatic memory to general feelings of anxiety or stress. The somatic element involves physically tapping on the body's meridian points, which helps to release blockages and restore balance in the body's energy system. This combination helps to reduce the emotional intensity associated with the thoughts or memories being addressed.
CONNECTION OF MIND-BODY WELL-BEING
EFT is based on the premise that unresolved emotional issues are not only mentally harmful but are also stored in the body leading to physical symptoms and ailments. By addressing and releasing these emotional blockages, EFT aims to improve both emotional and physical well-being.
ENERGY MERIDIANS
Energy meridians are pathways through which energy flows in the body, similar to blood vessels or nerves. These pathways are fundamental to traditional Chinese medicine and are believed to affect our physical, emotional, and mental health. When these energy pathways are blocked or disrupted, it can lead to physical and emotional symptoms.
EFT involves reframing limiting beliefs into positive and empowering ones. For example, transforming "I am not good enough" into "I am worthy and capable."
Limiting beliefs are deeply ingrained thoughts and perceptions that constrain our potential and hinder personal growth. These beliefs often originate from past experiences, cultural conditioning, or negative self-perceptions.
Examples:
- "I am not good enough."> "I will never succeed."> "I don't deserve happiness."
- "Money is the root of all evil."> "I can't trust anyone."
Impact:
- Loss of self-esteem and self-worth
- Alters decision-making process leading to choices that align with the negative belief system.
- Creates negative behavioral patterns and habits that reinforce the limiting beliefs.
- Persistent negative beliefs contribute to emotional distress, anxiety, and depression.
